Cobalt Blue ( : A Love Triangle Turned into a Family Feud
Director Leigh Janiak ushers audiences through three eras of terror, chasing her heroes through shopping malls, summer camps, and colonial forests to unearth the dark truth of Shadyside. Something to know about this list is that blockbusters sometimes get free admission, even if they’re pretty bad. It would be poor form to ignore the newest Jurassic Park movie coming to streaming services for the first time.Dominion isn’t great, but it’s big and pulpy and full of dinosaur action. Four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, dinosaurs are now living alongside humans all over the world, with predictably violent consequences. But paranoid humans will do whatever they must to remain the apex predators before the dinosaurs figure out they can’t be stopped. Writer-director Dee Rees’ first feature film grapples with identity and belonging through a soul-stirring coming-of-age story set in Brooklyn, New York.
Still, the film manages to stand out for its unconventional story and charming cast. For a coming-out movie, Time Out provides an often-overlooked perspective. When Mihir comes out as gay, his teenage brother Gaurav is forced to question his own burgeoning manhood. Closet Monster is a trippy tragedy with elements of horror and comedy.
The suburbs of Auckland were utilized to lend the film a “Denver, Colorado, type feel”. Filming was completed by mid-August right before a COVID-19 lockdown occurred in New Zealand. The film underwent reshoots in post-production in order to secure a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association, after the original cut was deemed too violent. After Celia blames Gemma for her missing dog, M3GAN kills Ceila with a pressure washer. Gemma becomes suspicious of M3GAN and attempts to check her video logs, only to find the files erased or corrupted. Gemma turns M3GAN off and takes her back to the lab where she and her colleagues Tess and Cole, attempt to fix her.
But E finds she has burnt too many bridges and there is nowhere to run but outback Australia into the arms of the ex-girlfriend, Trish, who broke her heart. Small-town girl Gwyneth Paltrow flies high as she chases her dream of becoming a flight attendant in this first-class comedy. A group of gay best friends and their gal pal head to a desert home to celebrate New Year’s Eve. But when a sadistic killer wants in on the party, relationships are tested and secrets are exposed as the night turns into a fight for survival.
‘Love, Victor’
The tension between a mother’s unwillingness to acknowledge her daughter’s girlfriend causes some of the initial conflict in this wild, weird, swirling movie. Let’s get the candlelight lesbians out of the way with the best example of that random trope. “Passing” follows the unexpected reunion of two high school friends, whose renewed acquaintance ignites a mutual obsession that threatens both of their carefully constructed realities. Modern Family also dealt with the rest of the family dealing with LGBTQ+ issues, and not just revolving around Cam and Mitchell. Instead of tired tropes of bigots learning to be accepting, they showed how members of the community are like everyone else, and come in all shapes and styles. Will & Grace broke new ground with two gay main characters in the 1990s, and now the revival plays off the ways the world has changed.

This year’s sixth and final season had fans mourning over this Canadian sitcom about a rich family that is forced to move to a small, rural town after they lose it all. Moira played by Catherine O’Hara, Alexis played by Annie Murphy, Johnny played by Eugene Levy, and David played by Dan Levy in the final season of “Schitt’s Creek.” Straight-A student Ellie is hired by a jock who needs help to win over a girl at their high school. Between the film’s title, which means “outcast,” and an opening quote by Audre Lorde—”Wherever the bird with no feet flew, she found trees with no limbs”—Rees offers a window into Alike’s conflicted mind. Alike’s private warfare samples from Rees’ own personal experiences, and Oduye’s tender embodiment of Alike elevated Pariah to its award-winning status praised by both GLAAD and NAACP. Most on-screen narratives from the HIV/AIDS pandemic center around New York City, the birthplace of Pride and a notable hotspot for AIDS-related deaths among gay men. The fictionalized miniseries is both emotional and fun, decidedly focusing on moments of joy amid a harrowing period of UK history. Olly Alexander, aka Years & Years, plays Ritchie Tozer, joined by memorable co-stars Keeley Hawes, Lydia West, Omari Douglas, Callum Scott Howells, and Nathaniel Curtis.
This beautifully shot coming-of-age drama written and directed by Katie Found is a quiet, slow look at loss, friendship and first love. The sheltered Claudia is left alone in a remote cottage after her mother’s suicide; comfort arrives in the form of Grace who carefully helps to bring Claudia back to life. The teens fall in love, though it’s not long before the adult world encroaches on their idyllic summer.
